DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) – Both locals and visitors in Durango will soon have a new scenic train excursion on the iconic Highline this summer. The Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is adding the evening “Highline Express” starting July 1.
People will see stunning views from 400 feet above the Animas River and across the famous Highline and horseshoe curve. It will be the shortest summer excursion at three-and-a-half hours.
But Durango train officials say the route is for nature lovers, photographers, history buffs, and travelers seeking a unique way to experience the Colorado wilderness.
