EDGEWOOD, N.M. (KRQE) – Wildlife West Nature Park in Edgewood said a bear cub in its care is adjusting nicely in her new home. Maggie, who is just one year old, was brought to the park about two months ago after struggling to survive in the wild. Her diet consists of special dog food, vegetables, fruit, and nuts but she eats around a thousand dollars worth of food a month, and the park is asking for donations to keep her fed.
“She’s eating about 3 times a day. She’s always hungry, we also buy nuts, whole nuts, pecans, and she loves all of those,” said Roger Alink, Wildlife West Nature Park founder.
