Today, Oct. 3, The Tipping Point has announced the return of its annual benefit concert, slated to support Tulane University scholarships and the City of New Orleans for a fully-fledged celebration and give back to the bustling region known for its rich culture and distinct appreciation for music. The 8th edition of the beloved event is slated to occur at the Orpheum Theatre on November 8, 2024.
The forthcoming charitable evening will be helmed by an all-star list of musical talent, including Emmylou Harris, Grace Potter, and Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, as well as local legends Jon Cleary, Anders Osborne, and Ivan Neville, guided by occassion’s director Eric Krasno. Krasno will also lead the New Orleans-based rhythm section: George Porter Jr., Raymond Weber, Tony Hall, and the Dumpstaphunk Horns.
“Tulane University is at the heart of New Orleans, and this concert is a celebration of both the city’s rich musical history and the future leaders who will shape it,” said Greg Williamson, co-founder of RWE Partners. “We’re thrilled to bring this incredible lineup together in support of Tulane students, while celebrating the music that makes this city so special.”
The forthcoming event remains a first of its kind in the U.S. as a charitable concert that aims to raise monetary support to extend scholarship services to university students. Proceeds from The Tipping Point will serve the City of New Orleans and students, lightening the financial burden of attending the Big Easy academic institution regardless of their economic background and helping to sustain the prized town.
