ESPAÑOLA, N.M. (KRQE) – Española Humane Society is raising money to expand its facilities to help more pets in New Mexico. The animal shelter will start construction on a brand-new building soon.

They have already raised $5 million and are looking for another $2 million. “We’ll be able to double our capacity. One of the things that really limits our services right now is that our space is so small. We’re only able to do a handful of spay-neuter surgeries for larger breed dogs,” said Director of Communications Mattie Allen, Española Humane Society.

They hope to be open by 2025. For more information or to donate, click this link.
