Near-record high temperatures are in store, along with mostly sunny skies in the lower elevations. Temperatures will reach the 90s and 100s across New Mexico, and there are heat advisories in effect through 7 PM for the Four Corners, middle Rio Grande Valley and lower Pecos Valley.

The mountains will see some cloud development during the afternoon, along with a mix of wet and dry storms over the Sacramento and Gila Mountains. These could bring brief rain, lightning and erratic wind gusts. Friday and Saturday will stay hot like today, but we will see widespread clouds, storms and virga across the state.
