Family fear worst for boy who went missing in River Mersey

Relatives of 14-year-old Daniel Halliday say they are devastated after he got into trouble in the water on Sunday

The family of a teenager who went missing in the River Mersey have said “our worst fear is that this tragic accident has taken our lovely boy from us”.

Daniel Halliday, 14, had been jumping waves with his older brother near Crosby beach when he got into trouble, his family said. His brother tried to help him but the current was too strong.
