In a statement, the duo said: “We’ve been telling you all how excited we are for you to hear our new album, The Deluge, but that doesn’t compare to the fever we have to announce our national tour. It’s coming in October/ November to a venue near you. Get on board, bring your raincoat, and prepare for a lot of fun.”

The duo introduced their new project with the euphoric single Disconnect earlier this month. The song features Ron Dziubla‘s saxophone, huge drums, synths, and a gorgeous lead melody that showcases Fanning and Dempsey’s combined skillsets.

Fanning and Dempsey revealed the existence of their new project in April, teasing “devious plans” on social media – one of which was the mention of a full-length album, which they’ve announced today. On Friday, 2 August, Fanning Dempsey National Park will drop The Deluge.

Recorded with producer Craig Silvey (Arctic Monkeys, The National, Sam Fender), Silvey worked from the pair’s “bombastic” demos in a Norwegian studio before travelling to the UK, San Francisco, and final sessions in Byron Bay. Engineer Dani Bennett-Spragg (IDLES, The Rolling Stones, Noel Gallagher) worked on the album in San Francisco, with Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine) providing additional engineering.

In addition to the all-star production team, Fanning Dempsey National Park reconnected with some familiar faces – drummer Michael Urbano and bassist Craig McFarland from their 2020 adventure, Celebrating David Bowie – and on synths, Adam MacDougall.

You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.
