The ongoing costume Chinese drama Follow Your Heart, starring Song Yi and Luo Yunxi, released episode 13 on June 25, 2024. The well-received drama has reached several milestones in a short period of time. As seen in the official trailer, the drama tells the story of a proud prince with face blindness and a clever doctor who team up to eradicate evil from the capital and uphold justice. Episode 13 of the drama focuses on Yan Nanxing (Song Yi) being arrested by Shang Bieli.
In this episode, Nanxing gets caught by Bieli while trying to break into his house. He suspects that she has been trying to kill him. Bieli ties her up and pesters her to spill the name of her master. Nanxing tries to convince him that it is all a big misunderstanding and that she simply got lost as she is new in town. But Bieli is not ready to listen.
As he continues to interrogate her, Nanxing asks him to send her to the inspection office. She tells him that she is ready to accept any punishment. But Bieli can see through her plan. He asks her why she visited the exclusive teahouse. But again, Nanxing’s vague answer disappoints him. He decides to use Nanxing to trap Jiang Xinbai (Luo Yunxi).

Meanwhile, Xinbai receives information that Nan Jifeng has fled to avoid punishment. He finds it strange, as the general is an honest man who is not afraid of death. He can sense that a memorial will be presented to the Majesty.
In the court meeting, the Vice Director of Personnel accuses the general of taking huge bribes and killing loyal officers. Xinbai instructs his trusted subordinate to get to the bottom of this.
Further, in the episode, Tong Sai’Er visits Xinbai and urges him to look for her boss, Nanxing. She reveals that Nanxing entered the residence of the Jinwu commander in a stealth suit and has been missing ever since. As soon as Xinbai hears this, he leaves for Bieli’s house.
How does Luo Yunxi recognize Song Yi?
Bieli makes Nanxing put on heavy opera makeup and act for him. Xinbai barges inside his court to rescue Nanxing. Despite having face blindness and Nanxing’s heavy makeup, he is quick to recognize her and saves her from Bieli’s attacks.
Bieli accuses Xinbai of harming his brother and attacks him. Nanxing calms him down by saying that his sister-in-law was her friend and that Xinbai was not the one who hurt them. Their conversation is interrupted by Tong Sai’Er. She has been searching for her fiancé, and Bieli’s unusual mask makes her wonder if Bieli is the person she got engaged to many years ago.
What happens in Follow Your Heart episode 13’s ending?
In episode 13 of Follow Your Heart, Bieli opens his mask in front of Tong Er to reveal that he doesn’t have a nose. Many years ago, Bieli was a handsome man. But he lost his nose while fleeing from a prison camp. Despite winning the battle, he struggled to regain his confidence as he felt the enemy had crushed his dignity. His brother and sister-in-law were the ones who helped him during this tough period. His sister-in-law, Gaya, was the one who made the mask for him.
Later, Bieli visits Nanxing to know in depth about Gaya’s death. Xinbai is the one who killed Gaya, and Bieli resents him for that reason. Nanxing assures him that Xinbai did nothing wrong. Bieli’s brother never disclosed Gaya’s true nature to Bieli because he wanted her to remain a good woman in his eyes. But Bieli is still not ready to accept the truth. He accuses Nanxing of taking Xinbai’s side. Nanxing gifts him a portrait of Gaya to prove that she was a friend of hers.
