Football: Romania Disappoints in Friendly Match vs. Liechtenstein 0-0

Romania offered a new disappointment to the fans present on Friday night, June 7, at the Ghencea Arena in Bucharest. In a friendly match against the amateur team of Liechtenstein, Romania couldn’t score and drew 0-0.

This is considered a historic result for Liechtenstein, a small country with less than 40,000 residents.

The results Romania had in friendly games before the EURO 2024 in Germany are all disappointing, but the match on Friday night offered an accurate measure tool for the actual value of the football players selected by Edward Iordanescu to represent Romania. Romania lost to Columbia, 3-2, and drew 0-0 with Bulgaria and Liechtenstein, both matches at home.

Romania didn’t keep up the excellent pace it had during the qualification rounds when the team won Group I. More than that, before the EURO 2024 championship starts in June in Germany, it didn’t seem ready for the tournament where it hadn’t been present for years.
