The ongoing fantasy C-drama Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red Moon Pact, starring Gong Jun and Yang Mi, released episode 16 on May 29, 2024. The episode focuses on Yuechu (Gong Jun) defeating Renfeng. As Yuechu and Fu Cheng discuss ways to defeat Jin Renfeng, the elder of the clan, along with Hong Hong (Yang Mi), arrive there.
The elder demands that he go back to Tushan, but Yuechu refuses. The elder accuses him of turning his back on Tushan and attacks him. Although Yuechu bravely fights him, his body is still very weak from the battle with Renfeng. Soon, the fox spirit beats him, and he gets severely injured. Fu Cheng somehow manages to escape with him. She takes him to the pharmacy in Flame Villa to treat his wounds.
But unfortunately, Renfeng’s messengers spot the two at the market and immediately inform him. Renfeng is hungry for vengeance. He instructs his men to capture Yuechu alive and bring him there.
Meanwhile, Yuechu and Fu Cheng arrive at the villa. Yuechu asks her to wait outside, and he enters the villa alone. He bumps into Yu Ping, an old disciple of Flame Villa. His heart aches to see that she has been working there as a slave. Yuechu introduces himself as Dongfang Qinlang’s son. As soon as Yu Ping hears her name, her face lights up.
She worked as Qinlang’s servant, but she treated her as her own sister. Yu Ping even protected Qinlang from Renfeng’s divine flame once. She mentions that she has been looking for Qinlang and her son for all these years. Renfeng had announced that the Tushan clan had killed them both, but she didn’t believe him.
Yuechu reveals that his parents have long passed away. Yu Ping promises to help him defeat Renfeng and avenge the deaths of his parents. Yuechu plans to use Fu Kui to lure Renfeng out of the villa.

Yuechu captures Fu Kui and tortures him until he agrees to help them. He then sends a secret message to Hong Hong and asks her to come to the Flame Villa. Meanwhile, Fu Cheng gets jealous to see Yuechu’s closeness with Hong Hong.
Yuechu, along with Hong Hong, Fu Cheng, and other spirits, confront Renfeng. They accuse him of being a traitor. Yuechu reminds him how he finished his whole family just because his grandfather refused to marry his daughter off to him. The members of the Yiqi alliance wish to punish Renfeng according to the rules, but Yuechu does not agree to it. Yu Ping hands him his grandfather’s sword, and he stabs Renfeng to death.
After the fight is over, Yu Ping urges Yuechhu to return to the villa, but he refuses. He mentions that he has no connection with the villa. He just wanted to seek justice for his dead relatives. Yue Chu urges Yu Ping to be the deacon of the villa. Fu Cheng, on the other hand, will be the leader of the disciples.
Meanwhile, Guo Guo’s actions start to raise suspicions. Lai suspects him of being connected to the princess’s murder but has no proof to support his theory. On the other hand, Hong Hong and Yuechu find an unknown spirit butterfly inside Tushan. They suspect that Si Ji has a secret spy inside the clan, someone who gives her inside information and also stole Hong Hong’s hair for Renfeng. They follow the butterfly and find it flying toward Guo Guo.
