The Chicago band recently performed the cover at their sold-out release show for their debut album ‘Where We’ve Been, Where We Go From Here’ (via ATO Records) at the Metro venue.

Their take is more contemplative and slow than Radiohead’s original, with added shoegazey reverb once the song reaches its climax towards the end. Now, they’ve shared audio of the cover on YouTube – you can listen to Friko’s cover of ‘Weird Fishes/Arpeggi’ below.

On top of their cover, Friko have also shared the news of their UK and European tour. Following their tour with Royel Otis in America, they will begin landing in Europe in November this year, passing through cities like Paris and Brussels until they arrive in London for Pitchfork Festival.

From there, they will visit Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow, before rounding off their tour with a show in Dublin. See all dates below and get your tickets here:

NME caught Friko at their Austin show back in March, where we gave their performance four stars. “Their songs are almost unreasonably anthemic. ‘Crashing Through’ has a hint of Black Country, New Road melodrama, as textures fold and crash into each other while Kapetan and Fuller trade vocals.

“The hazy, winding bassline of ‘Cardinal’ – a track that taps into a particular type of Gen Z yearning – is offset by grinding dissonance, complemented by the sweetness and shyness of Kapetan’s vocals. The contrast is gorgeous.”
