“They say that destiny knocks at the door… that is not true.” Apple TV has unveiled the full trailer for the series Disclaimer, a gripping psychological thriller told in seven chapters, starring the two Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Kevin Kline. The mystery-thriller series premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival to mostly positive reviews, and will be out streaming in October on Apple TV+. Based on the thriller novel by Renée Knight, the series follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a TV documentary journalist whose work has been built on revealing the transgressions of long-respected institutions. When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets. As Catherine races to uncover the writer’s true identity, she is forced to confront her past before it destroys her life and her relationships.
