Following the success of Grateful Shred and Circles Around the Sun’s initial co-headlining tour, For The First and Last Time, the bands have announced their intent to join forces again, detailing a new run of dates slated for the West Coast and fittingly dubbed For The First and Last Time… Again. The impending September outing has been described as both bands performing one continuous concert with no set breaks, poked at via poster art conveying, “Look ma, no set breaks!” See below.
The intertwined bill will commence at SLO Brew in San Luis Obispo, Calif., in a twofold, with nightly concerts on Sept. 4 and 5. In continuation of their late-summer outing, the blended ensemble, with added accompaniment from Mikaela Davis, will take the live show to Pappy + Harriet’s in Pioneertown, Calif., for a special outside presentation ahead of Arizona follow-ups in Tempe (Sept. 7) and Flagstaff (Sept. 8).
En route to Pacific coastal states, Grateful Shred and Circles Around the Sun are set to perform at Treefort Music Hall in Boise, Idaho, before Oregon dates. Entering the Pacific Northwest, they will stop at Bend, Ore.’s Midtown Ballroom on Sept. 11, ahead of Portland, Ore.’s Wonderball Room the next night. The revered jammers will stop by Eugene, Ore.’s McDonald Theatre, for their final Beaver State stand.
Traveling North, Sept. 14 will see the billed bands appear on stage at Seattle’s Neptune Theatre, ahead of their final date of the For The First and Last Time… Again tour on Sept. 15 at The Wild Buffalo in Bellingham, Wash. The impending jaunt will feature Grateful Shred participants Austin Beede, Dan Horne, Alex Koford, Adam MacDougall, Austin McCutchen, John Lee Shannon and Davis, with Circles overlap: Shannon, Horne, MacDougall. Circles Around the Sun also features backbeat, Mark Levy.
