Grupo Firme’s ‘El Beneficio De La Duda’ & More: Which Is Your Favorite New Latin Music Release This Week? Vote!

This week, Billboard’s New Music Latin roundup and playlist — curated by Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors — features fresh new albums from artists such as Grupo Firme, Manuel Medrano, Carín León, and Manu Chao, to name a few.

A handful of new albums were released on Friday (May 31), including León’s Boca Chueca, Vol. 1, Olga Tañón’s Así Soy Yo, Mau y Ricky’s Hotel Caracas, Gusi’s Monte Adentro and Medrano’s Perfecto. Showcasing a wide range genres, León delivers his most eclectic album to date. The first volume includes collaborations with artists such as Pepe Aguilar and Panteón Rococó, as well as previously released collabs with Kane Brown and Leon Bridges.

Meanwhile, Grupo Firme takes a departure from party songs to deliver the ultra-melancholic ballad “El Beneficio de la Duda.” Manu Chao releases “Viva Tu,” the first single from an upcoming new album, his first since 2007’s La Radiolina. “‘Viva’ thrives on the heartrending strums of a nylon guitar set to a mellow rhythm of a rumba,” wrote Billboard Español‘s Isabela Raygoza. Also in the roundup is Omar Montes, Lola Indigo and Las Chuches’s vibrant “El Pantalon – Rumbas,” just in time for summer.
