Hallmark actress, 19, on life support after falling from 5-story balcony

VANCOUVER (WJW) – A Hallmark teen actor sustained life-threatening injuries after loved ones say she fell five stories from a balcony in Canada over the weekend.

Mamie Laverock, best known for portraying Rosaleen Sullivan on the Hallmark series “When Calls the Heart,” is now on life support, according to a GoFundMe page organized by family members.

The page was originally set up after the 19-year-old suffered from a medical emergency on May 11. According to organizers, Laverock was first taken to a hospital in Winnipeg, but was later transferred to Vancouver.

“Her recovery is unclear at this time but she is alive and is showing signs of improvement,” the post read at the time.

This past Sunday, after spending two weeks in intensive care, loved ones say Laverock was led out onto a balcony walkway “from which she fell five stories,” the GoFundMe page said.

Family members go on to say that Laverock suffered life-threatening injuries and has undergone several extensive surgeries.

“We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time,” the family said in the update.

So far, the GoFundMe page has raised more than $24,000 CAD.

Costar Johannah Newmarch, who plays Laverock’s mother on the show, took to social media Monday to show her support.

“I love this family, my heart is broken,” Newmarch said on X. “A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can. They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”

Hallmark Media released a statement to People and other news outlets, saying, “We are deeply saddened to hear the news about Mamie. As a beloved member of our When Calls the Heart community, we wish her and her family peace, comfort and many prayers during this difficult time.”

According to IMDB, Laverock has also appeared in the 2012 film “This Means War” and the 2017 film “The Hollow Child.”
