Has FX Canceled English Teacher or Renewed It for Season 2?

Is English Teacher canceled or renewed for Season 2 on FX?

There has been no official announcement regarding the cancelation or renewal of English Teacher Season 2 as of writing.

Season 1 wrapped up on a high note and was a blast to watch. In the season finale, the teachers make their way to the Dallas Teaching and Learning Conference, and the very next day, Malcolm surprises Evan with a birthday bash. Neither the makers nor FX have confirmed any future installments of the show yet.

However, Stephanie Koenig, who essays Gwen in English Teacher, is optimistic about the chances for a sophomore season. During an interview with Screen Rant, she shared her thoughts on working with Andrene Ward-Hammond, who plays Sharon on the show. Koenig also added how thrilled she is about the feedback for the character’s comic elements. The actress further mentioned that the fans’ love for Sharon had blown her away.

When asked if viewers might see Sharon back for more episodes, Koenig responded, “I pray. I want that so bad. She is one of the funniest people I’ve worked with. I could not keep a straight face with her. Everybody needs more Sharon. I love the Emmy campaigns for her, so I try to retweet those as much as possible.”

Though Koenig wishes that fresh episodes of English Teacher with Sharon are announced, the network will likely assess the debut season’s viewership before renewing more seasons of the show. For now, fans just need to hang in there while hoping that Season 2 gets greenlit soon.

Meanwhile, viewers can catch up on all the episodes of English Teacher Season 1 via online streaming on Hulu.
