Higher rain chances coming to New Mexico Tomorrow

It will be a relatively dry day across New Mexico. Temperatures are nearly average to seasonably warm in most regions.

A dry air mass still has hold over New Mexico. This air is decreasing rain chances across the state. Only a few spotty showers are possible later this afternoon in the far southeast and northern mountains of New Mexico.

Thursday afternoon a backdoor cold front will be moving into the state. This front will bring more widespread moisture to the eastern half of New Mexico. Heavy rainfall will especially be expected in the Northern Mountains.

More dry air moves into New Mexico on Friday but it does not dry the state out completely. Isolated storms will be possible across parts of northern, central, western, and southeastern New Mexico. These isolated storms will continue from Friday into early next week.
