Hope in the Desert church to host Fall Fair benefitting local pets in need

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Hope in the Desert Episcopal Church is getting ready for its annual Blessing of the Animals event, honoring the practices of Saint Francis. On Saturday, October 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., everyone is invited to bring their pet for a blessing, make a pet-care donation, check out local vendors, and meet some of the animals available for adoption from local rescues Watermelon Ranch, Argos, and Bernalillo County.

The event will feature adoptable pets and over 50 local vendors and food trucks for a fair celebrating local artisans. Lining up with the first day of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, the church’s event on Alameda Boulevard will offer a great view of the hot air balloons as well. Attendees are encouraged to bring pet food and supplies to donate to local animals in need.
