This past weekend at AEW Double or Nothing, the promotion surprised the fans with the shocking return of MJF. The former AEW World Champion was last seen in December at the World’s End pay-per-view, where he lost his title. Following the loss of his title, MJF was betrayed by his best friend, Adam Cole, who revealed himself as The Devil and introduced his new faction.

At AEW Double or Nothing, MJF interrupted Adam Cole while he was cutting a promo. When Cole faced MJF for the first time, MJF delivered a low blow and a brainbuster. MJF then declared he would never trust anyone again. He also addressed his contract situation, stating he would remain with the promotion. Fightful Select has disclosed the measures AEW took to keep MJF’s return under wraps.

According to Fightful Select, AEW managed to keep MJF’s return a secret, even though many talents on the roster anticipated his appearance. They flew him to Phoenix instead of Las Vegas and then drove him to Vegas. To further maintain secrecy, they transported him to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in a wheelchair to prevent fans from spotting him.

The fans in the arena were surprised to see him make his long-awaited return after nearly five months. He received a huge ovation from the Las Vegas crowd when his music played.

AEW confirms MJF’s return on next week’s Dynamite

MJF, who made his shocking return at AEW Double or Nothing, is set to return next week on Dynamite. It was announced by the promotion on the latest edition of Dynamite that MJF would be making an appearance on the June 5 edition of Dynamite next week. This would mark his first appearance on Dynamite since last year when he was the world champion.

Meanwhile, Maxwell reacted to the news of his return and posted a tweet stating, “Daddy’s Back.”

It will be interesting to see what MJF will say next week on Dynamite. Since he announced his intentions to stay with the promotion, it will also be interesting to see what plans the promotion has for him. Meanwhile, his rival, Adam Cole, is still awaiting medical clearance due to his ankle injury. Thus, who will Maxwell set his sights on?
