WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair recently had high praise for MJF following his match against Will Ospreay. The rivalry between MJF and Will Ospreay began when “The Salt of the Earth” attacked Daniel Garcia after his match against Ospreay. MJF delivered a tombstone piledriver from the second rope, which led to Garcia being carried out on a stretcher.
Ospreay arrived to help Daniel Garcia but was too late, as MJF had already caused the damage. This incident led Maxwell to lay out to challenge Ospreay for his AEW International title, which Ospreay accepted.
Last week on AEW Dynamite, MJF and Ospreay had a 60-minute match. In a controversial finish, MJF used his signature diamond ring to secure victory and capture the AEW International Championship.

Following the match, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair praised MJF. Former AEW World Champion MJF recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated. During the interview, he discussed various topics, including his view that AEW feels dull without him.
He also addressed Ric Flair’s praise of his wrestling skills after his recent victory over Will Ospreay. He noted that Flair’s comparison photo showed how he views himself as a modern version of Ric Flair, but even better. He stated, “There’s a reason that after my match, Ric Flair posted a side-by-side comparison photo. I’m Ric Flair incarnated–and with all due respect to Ric, better.”
