Many sports fans are wondering how many Olympics that Simone Biles has been a part of or competed in so far. Simone Biles will be competing in her third Olympic Games when she participates in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Her first attendance to the Olympic Games was in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she was a part of the “Final Five” alongside Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez, Gabby Douglas, and Madison Kocian. Biles won gold medals in the team event, all-around, vault, and floor exercise, along with a bronze on balance beam.
Her journey through the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which was delayed a year to 2021 due to COVID-19, was rockier. While she was able to qualify for the event finals for all four apparatuses, she made several uncharacteristic mistakes during the qualification rounds due to a case of the “twisties.” Her body’s lack of awareness when twisting in the air made her come to the decision to withdraw from the team final, vault, floor, and uneven bars. Fortunately, she was still able to compete in the beam final where she won a bronze medal despite a slightly downgraded routine.
Barring injury or some other unforeseen circumstances, Biles is expected to win additional medals in the team, all-around, vault, floor, and balance beam, given her winning performances at 2023 World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium. We’ve seen numerous top contenders, like Skye Blakely, Shilese Jones, and Kayla DeCello, forced to withdraw from the US Olympic Trials due to various injuries, so we’re hoping that Biles stays healthy throughout the Paris Olympic Games.
