Without a distinct character, Dominik struggled to connect with the fans. However, in 2022, he made headlines at WWE Clash at the Castle by betraying his father and joining The Judgment Day. Since his alignment with The Judgment Day, Dominik has embraced a villainous role. His singles career has soared without his father, and their feud has led to back-to-back matches at WrestleMania. Dominik’s heel turn has marked significant growth in his character.
Now, with his involvement in the current storyline featuring WWE Women’s Champion Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley, Dominik faces intense fan criticism. After betraying Ripley and siding with Morgan, he remains one of the top heels in WWE. The burning question is whether Dominik Mysterio is ready to reconcile with his father, given his current status as a top star in the promotion.
What did Dominik Mysterio have to say about reconciliation?
WWE Superstar Dominik Mysterio recently appeared on Rosenberg Wrestling and was asked about the possibility of reconciling with Rey Mysterio. Dominik outlined a dramatic scenario in which reconciliation would require his father to make a grand gesture.
He stated, “[Rey] would have to publicly get on his knees in the middle of the ring, in front of me, take off his mask, unmask himself willingly, hand it to me like he’s presenting it to me as some sort of offering, and declaring that I am the greatest Mysterio of all time. As he gives it to me, he will get down and bow to me, and I will take the mask and obviously just carry on the legacy as the greatest Mysterio that ever lived.”
After setting his terms for reconciling with Rey Mysterio, Dominik faced criticism from interviewer Peter Rosenberg, who deemed his demands unrealistic. Dominik clarified that while he doesn’t require his father to bow, he wants him to kneel and unmask.
He also mocked his father’s appearance and wrestling skills, claiming he surpasses him in every way. After giving his conditions, it seems Dominik Mysterio is not interested in reconciling with Rey Mysterio.
