Following MaXXXine‘s recent release, fans have been wondering if Ti West’s X franchise has ended with the latest installment or if a MaXXXine 4 will happen. Is there a MaXXXine 4 release date?

MaXXXine 4 does not have an official release date, but it will likely be announced in the future.

Although a MaXXXine 4 has not been confirmed as of this writing. The possibility of it happening is not off the table. In a February 2024 interview with the YouTube channel What’s Under the Bed?, Ti West, the director and progenitor of the X franchise, said that he had an idea for a fourth film floating around. He also said that the idea would only make sense if he spoke about it in detail.

However, he said that he would only pursue the development of a fourth film after seeing how the third film performs and whether or not audiences will positively receive it.

Later in May 2024, however, in an Entertainment Weekly interview, West stated that while MaXXXine could be the end of Maxine Minx’s story, he had an idea that could see the films expand beyond a trilogy. However, he clarified that he did not know if his next project would be the start of those films.

Where is MaXXXine 4 coming out?

MaXXXine 4 could come out in theaters if it gets confirmed.

This is because X and Pearl came out in theaters before they were made available for streaming and on digital platforms. A similar plan is also likely set for MaXXXine. Thus, MaXXXine 4 will first premiere in theaters before it eventually drops on streaming.
