Even though there was quite some controversy around the film, it managed to receive an overall positive review. Now with the movie based on It Ends With Us already out, fans are wondering whether there will be an It Starts With Us movie coming out as a sequel.

It Starts With Us does not have an official release date, but it will likely be announced in the future.
It Ends With Us directed by Justin Baldoni, who also stars in the film, did pretty well during its opening weekend. The film stars Blake Lively as Lily Bloom, Justin Baldoni as Ryle, and Brandon Sklenar as Atlas. As the movie follows a similar storyline as the book, it is very likely that there will be a sequel to the film. The final scene of the movie also seemingly sets the stage for the story to carry on from that point.
Additionally, at the premiere of It Ends With Us, Justin Baldoni spoke with Entertainment Tonight about directing the sequel. He said, “I think that there are better people for that one. I think Blake Lively’s ready to direct, that’s what I think.” Baldoni acquired the rights to It Ends With Us back in 2019, while the It Starts With Us book came out in 2022.
Additionally, Colleen Hoover seems to be up for another film and responded to Baldoni talking about Blake Lively as the director for It Starts With Us. At the premiere, she told Entertainment Tonight, “Oh absolutely. I’ve had the best time working with everyone on this movie. I think whoever decides to take charge of the next one would do it justice. I think they’re all in it for the right reasons, so I think that will be exciting. But…it’s a lot of people to get the same schedules together again, so we’ll see.”
Therefore, while there might not be a release date set for the movie yet, it seems likely that it will happen in the future.

It Starts With Us will most likely come out in theaters, just like the first movie. An OTT release seems highly unlikely after the first film came out in theaters and did quite well. However, when it will come out and if it will really happen is currently unknown.
