Promiseland Festival has unveiled its surprise headliner, and it is none other than UK rap sensation J Hus.
The UK rapper is the latest addition to the shiny 2024 line-up, which also includes Metro Boomin, Jorja Smith, Miguel, and Busta Rhymes.
J Hus is known for pioneering the growing Afroswing sound, combining Afrobeats and hip-hop. This innovative style has seen him not only become a dominating figure on the UK charts but also influence the world music scene.
The rapper’s impact cannot be denied; he has worked with some of the biggest names in the game including Drake, Stormzy, Burna Boy, and fellow Promiseland headliner Jorja Smith.
With J Hus added to the line-up, Promiseland is looking huge – and not just because it’s locked in over 70 acts to perform at this year’s event.
Two weeks ago, Promiseland expanded with the additions of Grime star Headie One, YG Marley – notably, the son of Lauryn Hill and grandson of Bob Marley – Sons Of Zion, Stan Walker, and more.
“These Phase 2 additions give Promiseland a complete experience for any type of music fan, covering multiple genres and sub-cultures,” festival co-director Emal Naim commented in a press release. “It’s going to be an enriching and unforgettable weekend featuring the world’s best musicians.”
While other festivals have been on the decline with the state of ticketing and insurance prices this year, Promiseland promises to bring some of the world’s most esteemed artists back to Australian shores, as well as a few of our home-grown talents.
The festival will be held at Doug Jennings Park on the Gold Coast from Friday, October 4th to Sunday, October 6th. Tickets are on sale now on the Promiseland website. The full lineup can be found below.
