The singer-songwriter will take to the stage with his band at the American Legion Post 82 bar and event space in the city at 7pm this Saturday (July 27).

Sharing the news on social media, White explained that the establishment “needs a new sound system” and he “would like to recruit you to help”.

“Proceeds from ticket sales go towards procuring this powerful new PA,” an official listing reads. In the comments section on Instagram, White added: “Garage punk show where the end result is the legion getting a new sound system? Win win win +++ !!!”

Tickets go on sale at 10am CT tomorrow (Friday July 26). Fans can sign up here to be in with a chance to attend the gig, although this doesn’t guarantee access. Check out the announcement post here:

The event will mark only White’s second live performance of 2024, following his set at the reopening of Michigan Central Station in Detroit, Michigan in June.

Last week saw the musician surprise release a new solo album by slipping it into the bags of customers at branches of Third Man Records in London, Nashville and Detroit. He also encouraged fans to “rip” the record and share it online.

A recording of the LP has since been uploaded to White’s official Reddit page. It is unclear if the project will receive a more extensive physical release. Beyond those lucky Third Man customers, members of the Third Man subscription service have reported receiving the album in the mail (via Stereogum).

White previously released two full-length albums in 2022 with ‘Fear Of The Dawn’ and ‘Entering Heaven Alive’.
