The nominees for the 2024 Logie Awards are here, and two beloved and very different Australian music legends have been nominated for the same award.
Yesterday (23 June), the nominees for this year’s Logie Awards – celebrating the most popular and the best Australian TV – were announced, and for the Best Factual or Documentary Program, John Farnham: Finding The Voice and Hot Potato: The Story of The Wiggles, will battle it out as major music-related nominations.

Farnham and The Wiggles are in solid company, alongside documentaries about the Matildas, the Ben Roberts-Smith trial, the ABC’s War On Waste, and Nemesis, also on the ABC.
Elsewhere, the Logie Awards have nominated Bluey (Best Children’s Program), A Silver Lining: Silverchair on Australian Story (Best News Coverage or Public Affairs Report), and the Best Entertainment Program is stacked with the likes of Take 5 With Zan Rowe, Australian Idol, and The Voice Australia.
Netflix series Boy Swallows Universe dominates the Most Popular New Talent, Best Lead Actor in a Drama, Best Lead Actress in a Drama, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Miniseries or Telemovie categories.

For the Gold Logie, the nominees are Andy Lee, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris, Larry Emdur, Robert Irwin, Sonia Kruger, and Tony Armstrong. Public voting for all categories is now open and closes at 7 pm on Saturday, 17 August.
However, voting remains open for the Most Popular Presenter & New Talent until 7:30 pm AEST on Sunday, 18 August, and the Gold Logie Award until 10:30 pm AEST on Sunday, 18 August.
The TV Week Logie Awards – hosted by Sam Pang – will air from 7 pm on Sunday, 18 August, on Channel 7. You can find the complete list of nominees and vote for your favourites here.

Last week, it was reported that the OG Wiggles—Anthony Field, Greg Page, Jeff Fatt, and Murray Cook—were set to feature in a movie called Zombie Plane, which is currently in production in Brisbane.
The Wiggles were apparently keen on the idea, but it was decided that starring in Zombie Plane wouldn’t work with their core audience.
A source said, “It is very tongue-in-cheek, and the boys were flattered to be asked, but sadly, the chance to see ‘the originals’ back together again has been dashed.
“They loved the script and the idea that was created for them, and it would have been exciting to get the band back together, but the project just didn’t sit right with everyone from the children’s entertainment group’s management.”
Earlier this year, Hachette Australia and Talentworks announced the release of John Farnham’s debut memoir, The Voice Inside.
Last weekend, the singer’s son, Rob, got married and shared the first public photos of his father since he undertook cancer treatment and surgery. You can find those photos here.
