Jon Moxley seized Darby Allin’s chance to face AEW World Heavyweight Champion Bryan Danielson at AEW WrestleDream 2024. At All Out, Moxley shocked fans by attacking Danielson right after his successful title defense against Jack Perry.
The situation escalated when Killswitch and Christian Cage appeared, seemingly ready to cash in his AEW World Championship match clause. Just as Cage prepared to strike, Moxley arrived with Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Pac. Though Danielson initially felt reassured by his Blackpool Combat Club allies, things took a dramatic turn when Moxley and Castagnoli attacked him while Pac restrained Yuta.
Before betraying Danielson, Moxley had been calling out Darby Allin for weeks. Moxley eventually confronted Allin, challenging him for the number one contender spot, which Allin earned by winning the Royal Rampage match, granting him a shot at Danielson’s AEW World title at WrestleDream 2024.
Allin accepted the challenge, risking his opportunity. On the latest AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Moxley defeated Allin in the main event, securing the spot to face Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream 2024.

In the main event of AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Jon Moxley defeated Darby Allin, who had risked his title shot, making Moxley the new number one contender for Bryan Danielson’s AEW World Heavyweight Championship.
After Moxley’s victory, Bryan Danielson attacked him from behind, choking him with a necktie. Marina Shafir tried to intervene, but PAC and Claudio Castagnoli from the Blackpool Combat Club soon arrived to support Moxley.
Komander, Alex Abrahantes, and Private Party rushed in to assist Danielson, this led to Moxley, Castagnoli, PAC, and Shafir retreat. Danielson then grabbed a microphone, announcing that he was declaring war on Moxley.
Notably, Wheeler Yuta, who opposed the betrayal of Danielson, was absent from the chaos. As Danielson seeks revenge on Moxley at AEW WrestleDream 2024, it remains to be seen if Yuta will play a role in the unfolding conflict.
