New Zealand-born, Brisbane-raised artist Jordan Rakei is finally coming home, announcing a tour of Australia and New Zealand this morning.
Rakei, a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and producer, has been touring throughout the UK and Europe for most of 2024, performing at festivals including Glastonbury, the Edinburgh International Festival, and the Nice Jazz Festival.
In February 2025, fans back home can celebrate Rakei’s homecoming and his most recent album, The Loop – the album he recently told The Music he’s been trying to make since he was 19.
Rakei’s The Loop tour of Australia and New Zealand begins at Electric Avenue, Christchurch, on Friday, 21 February, before he crosses the pond and performs at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre (Monday, 24 February), the Sydney Opera House (Wednesday, 26 February), and ends the tour at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Thursday, 27 February.

“This album was a return to the music I first fell in love with,” Rakei said about his latest album. “I let go of the over-analytical producer mindset and simply allowed myself to create with freedom. The result is an album that’s filled with emotion, ambition, and a lot of heart.”
Earlier this year, Rakei became the first artist in residence at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios in London.
“This residency is not just about creating music; it’s about building a community and celebrating the joy of artistic expression,” the singer explained. “I want to embrace making music for fun again!”
