The ongoing Wuxia C-drama Joy of Life Season 2, starring Zhang Ruoyun and Li Qin, released episode 25 on May 28, 2024. The episode primarily focuses on Fan Xian (Zhang Ruoyun) and Wan Er’s (Li Qin) marriage.
In the recent episode, Prince Cheng Ze keeps Miss Ye captive. He mentions that her family will not look for her as he imitated her handwriting and left a letter notifying them about her absence from the capital. Cheng Ze shows no sign of remorse. When asked why he captured her, he mentions that he did it to stop her from informing Wan Er about Fan Xian’s connection with Lin Gong’s death. Miss Ye gets impulsive as she suspects Cheng Ze’s intention of revealing this information during Fan Xian and Wan Er’s wedding.
Meanwhile, the entire capital participates in joyous celebrations for poetic genius Fan Xian’s wedding. The emperor grants their marriage personally, and Fan Xian also acquires the responsibility of the imperial treasury.
In the meantime, a carriage adorned with beautiful flowers reaches the Fan residence. Qi Nian informs Fan Xian that Li Yun Rui, Wan Er’s mother, has come all the way to the capital to congratulate him. Fan Xian does not understand why the woman who he chased away from the capital would go to such an extent for him. However, he joins her inside the carriage. Yun Rui has prepared a special congratulatory gift for him.
Fan Xian warns her that she should not come back to the capital without a royal edict. Yun Rui gifts Fan Xian ledgers from the imperial treasury. Yun Rui expresses her wish to forget her enmity with Fan Xian for the time being as she wishes to see her daughter on her wedding day.

Fan Xian takes the ledgers to President Chen Ping Ping to check their authenticity. The ledgers document a loss of over 20 million taels over the years when Yun Rui was in control. But Fan Xian is eerily calm about the whole situation. He is confident about being able to recover the loss within a short period of time. Ping Ping advises Fan Xian to make copies of the booklets and deliver them to the imperial family and the concerned officials.
Fan Xian discusses the serial killings with Ping Ping, in which no one saw the perpetrator, and those who did were instantly killed. Fan Xian suspects Mr. Wu Zhu to be the killer, but there is no evidence to back up his theory. Ping Ping is worried that the perpetrator might attack Fan Xian in the near future and asks him to be extra careful.
The episode then shows Yun Rui visiting Wan Er’s chamber. She adorns her with make-up and congratulates her on her wedding. But as Yun Rui is visiting the capital in secret, she won’t be able to stay with her. With tears in her eyes, she asks Wan Er to forget about her.
The officials, including the princes, join Fan Xian in a joyous celebration. However, chaos unfolds when Cheng Ze, accompanied by Miss Ye, arrives at Fan Residence as well. But keeping their old enmity aside, Fan Xian welcomes him inside. The prince cunningly mentions the loss of the royal treasury in front of the guests, but Fan Xian handles the situation with grace without disrespecting anyone.
Finally, the auspicious hour arrives, and Fan Xian and Wan Er enter the wedding venue. They receive elders’ blessings and exchange vows in front of their friends and families.
