Is Yuta Okkotsu dead in the Jujutsu Kaisen manga?
Based on the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 262 spoilers, Yuta Okkotsu’s status is unknown.
While the leaks show a fully manifested Rika crying while holding an unconscious Yuta, it’s not confirmed if he’s simply unconscious or actually dead. Notably, his body is already stitched back together compared to Chapter 261, in which we see him cut in half. This means that Shoko probably managed to put his body back together successfully, which is a good thing.
It’s possible that the five minutes are up and Yuta has just returned to his own body or is about to. Another possibility is that the panel just shows Yuta unconscious because he’s still in Gojo’s body, and Rika is crying because she’s concerned about Yuta in general. Furthermore, with Rika still present, Yuta should still be alive.
For now, fans will have to hope that the next chapter does not lead to Yuta Okkotsu’s death.
What happened to Yuta after fighting Sukuna?
Yuta joined the Jujutsu High team in fighting Sukuna in Chapter 248. In the next chapters, we see more of Yuta’s Domain and the rest of the jujutsu sorcerers’ abilities and powers. In Chapter 251, we see Sukuna’s slashes hit Yuta.
We find out more about Yuta’s fate in Chapter 261, where we see him on the medical table cut in half. This chapter also shows their plan involving Yuta taking over Gojo’s body by using Kenjaku’s cursed technique. Since Yuta defeated Kenjaku, he managed to copy his technique.
The Jujutsu High group’s last plan was for Yuta to take over Gojo’s body using Kenjaku’s technique. Since it comes with a lot of risks and uncertain possibilities, Maki and the others weren’t fond of the plan. However, Yuta thought about how they put the burden on Gojo, and now that he’s gone, Yuta’s willing to take on that role.
So, based on the Chapter 262 leaks, Yuta (in Gojo’s body) vs. Sukuna continues. However, Sukuna manages to bypass Infinity to punch Yuta. We have yet to find out what happens to Yuta after that.
