Kagurabachi Chapter 35 recap
The chapter starts with a flashback to August of the same year. Hakuri was assigned to watch the mysterious girl with the icy skin. He tells her to eat, but she refuses, as she hopes to die before being dead. However, he assures her she won’t die, as he will do everything in his power to keep her alive.

She tells him to eat with her, as food cannot be enjoyed alone. Although he is initially reluctant, he accepts for the good of Rakuzaichi. The two grow closer, and Hakuri opens up to her about his mistreatment at the hands of his family, especially his brother. He finally unlocks her cage to have a meal with her outside.

However, after returning, he finds her with a knife to her throat. She tells him the plan was always to die before being sold to the lowlifes. She then slits her throat in front of him. The chapter returns to the present as Soya uses his Issou to repress Hakuri.
Hakuri lay on the ground, injured, with thoughts about the girl running through his mind. The chapter ends with a plier hitting Soya, while Hakuri lies on the ground with his eye emitting spirit energy.
