Kevin Spacey announced as guest for 2025 Albuquerque Comic Con

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque Comic Con has announced that embattled actor Kevin Spacey will be on of the celebrity guests at the 2025 event. In a Facebook post-Wednesday, festival producers announced the two-time Academy Award winner will be in attendance this coming January.

However, some social media users pushed back on his inclusion. Spacey was accused of multiple instances of sexual misconduct starting in 2017. The controversy led to Spacey’s termination from the Netflix series, House of Cards.

Spacey was found not guilty on nine counts of sexual assault overseas in 2023. Jim Burleson, the festival’s producer released the following statement:

“Albuquerque Comic Con tries to bring the largest and most diverse guest list to fans of comic books and film each year. The inclusion of Kevin Spacey was based on all of his relevant work to pop culture. He was acquitted of the crimes he was accused of so we hope that our community will welcome him or at least accept the due process of our legal system. The ongoing attempts to personally cancel me by a rival production that has failed at shows is driving the movement to cancel me now. I’m squarely against the idea of letting an angry mob determine what is or isn’t acceptable.
