Monday’s Five Facts

[1] Alec Baldwin to go on trial in the death of cinematographer – Nearly three years after a deadly shooting on the “Rust” movie set, actor Alec Baldwin is scheduled to go on trial this week. [2] Trial for man linked to NMSP officer murder further delayed – The trial for Jaremy Smith, accused of killing a New Mexico State Police Officer, was pushed back again. Police say Smith stole a car out of South Carolina that later broke down near Tucumcari. NMSP Officer Justin Hare stopped to help, investigators say Smith shot and killed Hare. Smith was arrested in Albuquerque a few days later. Smith’s trial was originally scheduled for this week after a previous delay, but court records show both sides have agreed to delay the trial again.

[3] East Canyon winds with higher humidity -The western-third of the region will remain relatively dry today, but those easterly winds along the northern parts of The Rio Grande Valley, which are gusting between 40-60 miles-per hour this morning, will lead to the damper conditions spreading. Most will reach the upper 70’s, 80’s, and lower 90’s. More thunderstorms will form from The Sangre De Cristo Mountains to the eastern plains later this morning and into the afternoon. A few storms will likely go through The Sendia’s later this afternoon.
