LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – A Las Cruces man is being held without bond for allegedly killing his father and brother with a hammer, according to the Third Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

Luis Noyola, 46, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of tampering with evidence. Las Cruces Police were called out to 1105 Wofford Drive on June 23 for a welfare check requested by Noyola’s sister.

Noyola’s sister had picked up their mother earlier, and upon returning to the home, Noyola told them, “You do not want to come in here” and did not open the door, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

When officers arrived, they noticed blood evidence outside the door to the home. Officials said Noyola answered the door and told the officers that he had killed his father and brother.

Both men were found dead in the home.  Further investigation showed that Noyola had attempted to clean up the scene and the hammer he used as the murder weapon was found in the kitchen sink, the District Attorney’s Office said.
