Las Cruces man will serve 10 years in prison for trying to hire hitman to kill girlfriend’s mom

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – A Las Cruces man was sentenced to ten years in prison for trying to hire an undercover Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms agent to murder his girlfriend’s mother. Two years ago, Leif Hayman went to a website, looking for someone to kill his girlfriend’s mother for $200.


Albuquerque police arrest suspect in 2021 murder

An undercover agent posing as the assassin contacted Hayman and he told the agent to kill the woman. In February, Hayman pled guilty to using the website.
