In this cinematic version, the track — which comes from his 2002 album ‘Sea Change’ — takes on a new, melodramatic atmosphere. The performance offers a glimpse at his upcoming orchestral tour, which will include a performance at Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles on July 6. You can find any remaining tickets here.

While on Kimmel, which was guest-hosted by actor Martin Short and Selena Gomez, Beck also spoke about the time he was rejected from Tyga’s Grammy’s after-party in 2016, alongside Paul McCartney and the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

Speaking about the night, Beck told Short: “[McCartney] said ‘My wife want’s to go dancing. I think Mark Ronson is DJ’ing, we could go dance there.’ So we go to Hollywood and we had the wrong address.

“We go to the place and it was all gates closed, doors closed. He’s rattling on the gate like ‘hello?’. We go up and Paul’s like ‘Can we come in?’ and the doorman is like ‘Nope. Not going in.’,” he recalled.

In a clip of the incident captured by TMZ McCartney can be heard saying: “How VIP do we gotta get?.” Tyga later denied rejecting the group from his party, saying he was only paid to perform and had no control of the guest list.

Last month, Beck appeared on the new single ‘Boom Boom Back’ from Spanish rock band Hinds. The collaboration came after Beck met the band by chance at a film screening in LA.

Beck hasn’t released an album since 2019’s ‘Hyperspace‘, which was a collaborative project with PharrellNME gave the record a 4-star review and declared it a “daring new era” for the artist, with Elizabeth Audrey writing: “After a career spanning 30-years, Beck is still shape-shifting and proves, once again, that no genre isn’t malleable for him.”
