Lobo basketball announces non-conference schedule

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The University of New Mexico men’s basketball program has revealed its non-conference schedule for the 2024-2025 season. In total, the Lobos will play 11 non-conference games (seven in the Pit, one on the road, and three neutral-site) and host one exhibition game.

Highlights from this season’s non-conference schedule include a road game in Madison Square Garden against Rick Pitino and St. John’s, a neutral-site game in Las Vegas, NV against UCLA, an appearance in the Acrisure Classic in Palm Springs, CA during Thanksgiving, and home games against NMSU and VCU.

“This year’s non-conference schedule will be exciting, to say the least,” said UNM head coach Richard Pitino. “There are so many great opportunities for quality wins and we look forward to the challenge.”

Nov. 8  — UCLA (at Las Vegas, NV.)
Nov. 12 vs Texas A&M-Corpus Christi
Nov. 17 @ St. John’s (at Madison Square Garden)
Nov. 21 vs Grambling State
Nov. 24 vs Texas Southern
Nov. 28 — Arizona State (Acrisure Classic – Palm Springs, CA.)
Nov. 29 — USC/Saint Mary’s (Acrisure Classic – Palm Springs, CA.)
Dec. 7 vs New Mexico State
Dec. 14 vs Western New Mexico
Dec. 18 vs VCU

Overall, the Lobos will play 17 regular-season games in the Pit. With the new Mountain West 20-game schedule, UNM will host all other ten teams in the conference. Those games, as well as game times and broadcast rights, will be announced at a later date.
