Los Padillas Pool faces opening delay

NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – South Valley kids looking to get their splash on this summer break might have to wait a little longer. The opening of Los Padillas Pool has been delayed for maintenance.

Bernalillo County said contractors are working to repair a major pipeline, requiring extensive testing before it can be filled with water. It must then pass an official inspection.

The expected opening date is now Saturday, June 15, but the Rio Grande, South Valley, and Paradise Hills public pools will be opening on June 1.

If you’re not in the Bernalillo area, you can head to Los Alamos to play in the sun. The Los Alamos County splash pad is opening on Saturday. The county asks those who attend to wear sunscreen and not climb on the water features.
