Man admits to drinking after being seen with handgun, Albuquerque Police Department reports

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is behind bars just two days after police highlighted their crackdown on the deadly combination of drinking and negligently using a firearm.

Video shows the Albuquerque Police Department making contact with the driver of a vehicle, identified as Manuel Romero. They believed he and several others were lurking in a parking lot near Gold Avenue and Second Street early in the morning.


Albuquerque mother enters plea deal after baby dies with meth in system

Police claimed he had a black handgun between his thighs and admitted he had been drinking. Romero was arrested and is facing a negligent use of a firearm charge.
