COLFAX COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The Colfax County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly train crash on Highway 555 west of Raton.
The sheriff’s office said they responded to a report of a vehicle that hit an Amtrak train around shortly before 11 a.m. on Monday. Deputies found a man inside the vehicle and he was taken to Miners Colfax Medical Center where he died.
The train was not majorly damaged and will be inspected, according to the sheriff’s office.
