Mark Wahlberg + Halle Berry in Netflix Spy Comedy ‘The Union’ Trailer

“We’re looking for street smarts over book smarts.” Netflix has launched an official trailer for a spy comedy called The Union, one of their summer movie offerings debuting in August in a few months. This looks like another generic action comedy like so many Netflix has already made before (must be the algorithm telling them what to do, right? They have to be chasing this data!). Mark Wahlberg stars as Mike, a down-to-earth construction worker from Jersey, who is quickly thrust into the world of super spies and secret agents when his high school ex-girlfriend Roxanne recruits him on a high-stakes US intelligence mission. Isn’t this also similar to the recent “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” series, too? Though it also looks like Men in Black mashed up with Hit Man with a Mark Wahlberg script. The impressive ensemble cast also includes Halle Berry, Mike Colter, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica De Gouw, Alice Lee, Jackie Earle Haley, and J.K. Simmons. Filming in 2022 took over the tiny, picturesque seaside village of Piran, Slovenia; it also shot in Jersey, London and other cities.
