Marry My Husband actor Na In-Woo is confirmed to star alongside Lee Se-Young in the new MBC K-drama Motel California. The series, set in a rural motel, will focus on the story of a woman who was born and brought up in a hotel. She goes through the ups and downs of life when she reunites with her first love. The news of this new series comes after Na In-Woo announced his departure from the variety show 2 Days & 1 Night Season 4.
Director Jang Joon-Ho of Bad Thief, Good Thief is directing Motel California. Meanwhile, Lee So-Yoon is the screenwriter of the MBC K-drama. According to a news report, the K-drama seeks inspiration from the 2019 novel Home, Bitter Home. The storyline as well as the cast members have raised significant anticipation among viewers.
MBC K-Drama Motel California: Na In-Woo & Lee Se-Young to play lead roles
On Thursday, June 13, 2024, MBC announced its next K-drama, Motel California, starring Na In-Woo and Lee Se-Young. The latter plays the female protagonist, Ji Kang-Hee, who was born and brought up in a rural motel. She is a mixed-race child; her father is a neighborhood rapper who married her mixed-race mother. The family turns their house into a motel named Motel California.
Kang-Hee falls in love with her friend Cheon Yeon-Soo (Na In-Woo). However, as soon as she turns 20, Kang-Hee abandons her first love and family to move to Seoul. She begins pursuing her career as an interior designer. Years later, when she is at the peak of her career, Kang-Hee has to return to Motel California, where she reunites with Yeon-Soo.
Meanwhile, Na In-Woo essays the role of Cheon Yeon-Soo, the local veterinarian, who falls in love with Kang-Hee. The town residents and farm owners place him in the highest regard. Yeon-Soo tries to avoid the rumor about him marrying a fellow veterinarian. After 12 years, he reunites with his first love, Kang-Hee. As the two navigate their pasts, Kang-Hee misunderstands that Yeon-Soo will marry the veterinarian. Viewers will have to wait and see how their love story turns out in this romance drama.
Lee Se-Young was last seen in the popular MBC K-drama The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract. Meanwhile, Na In-Woo achieved global success after his appearance in the hit tvN K-drama Marry My Husband.
