Max Savage & The False Idols Celebrate Album Release

Max Savage & The False Idols Celebrate Album Release

Max Savage & The False Idols have released their sophomore album as of Sunday, October 13th.

Colour the Light follows through on the band’s tradition of plucking from blues, country and the great American songbook to tell grand, wistful stories. It is ambitious, anthemic, and guitar-heavy, with clean production that centres Savage’s assured vocals.

The album was written over the span of six years between Port Arthur, Melbourne, London, and Berlin, and was recorded at Wizard Tone Studios over a mere five days at the end of April 2022.

Having performed alongside the likes of Keith Urban, Guy Sebastian, The Boom Crash Opera, Marlon Williams and Russel Morris, Savage is fast becoming a name to watch out for.

Savage and the band appear to be absolutely stoked to finally have the album out in the world. “It’s the record I wish I could have made when I was 19 and going to gigs at Jive; suffocating in skinny jeans, or drinking long necks and dancing to ‘Walk The Line’ on a sweaty Supermild dancefloor or cruising to the beach in my best mate’s 1984 Renault Fuego sporting coupe with nothing but a CD wallet and a six pack to keep us company,” an official statement from the band reads.

To ensure that the brand new album receives the celebration it deserves, Max Savage & The False Idols have organised a launch party hosted by Big Easy Radio, the gorgeous live music venue based in Aldinga Beach.

They will be joined on the night by experimental rock outfit Djawbreaker and transcendently soulful singer-songwriter Grace Vandals.
