Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 premiered on Sunday, June 2, and viewers want to know if Mike’s Mom Miriam McLusky (Dianne Wiest) is dead or not. The previous season ended on a cliffhanger with Miriam battling for her life after a gunfight at her home. In Season 2 Episode 10, Mike (Jeremy Renner) barely survives an attack by the Aryan Brotherhood, and things only spiral out of control from there. As a result, he ends up missing his meeting with Iris (Emma Laird) and handing over the bonds. This prompts Milo (Aidan Gillen), a Russian mobster and Iris’ employer, to visit Miriam’s home along with his people.
Realizing what’s happening, Miriam calls Mike, who in turn contacts his brother Kyle (Taylor Handley), a police officer, and his partner Ian (Hugh Dillon). Mark subsequently arrives at his mother’s home and tries to explain to Milo that he is having a terrible day. Milo dismisses the other man’s ordeal and reveals that Iris has already killed Joseph. He also declares that he will kill Miriam if he doesn’t get his bonds back.
Meanwhile, Kyle tries to infiltrate the house by taking out Milo’s people. Soon, a widespread gunfight ensues. Miliriam’s house is destroyed, and she is caught in the crossfire. After she is rushed to the hospital, Kyle admits that he was the one who shot his mother. Mike knows that his brother has his entire life in front of him, so he ensures that everyone says Milo is the culprit.
Season 3 Episode 1 reveals that Miriam is dead. Her family and close friends attend her funeral at the Kingstown Cemetery. However, the McLusky family, who are already grieving their loss, find themselves thrust into further turmoil as the detonation erupts near the hearse.
