Mobile blood drive coming to Los Alamos County

LOS ALAMOS COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Vitalant and Los Alamos County are holding a blood drive.

The blood drive is taking place on Tuesday, October 1, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A mobile blood bank will be parked at the Municipal Building at 1000 Central Avenue in Los Alamos.

“Blood donations are essential for saving lives, as there is no substitute for human blood. Many patients, including those undergoing surgeries, battling cancer, or facing emergencies, rely on blood transfusions for survival. However, the number of Americans who donate blood is decreasing, posing a significant challenge to maintaining an adequate blood supply,” reads a release from the county.
