My Hero Academia is still one of the best shonen animes today. Kohei Horikoshi’s famous manga redefined what it meant to be a hero and deserves all the accolades it receives. While the pro-heroes versus the villains have always been the series’ main focus, the students in Class 1-A have always had significant parts to play.

While the class boasts some of the best heroes, not every member of Class 1-A fits the bill. That said, here are some of the weakest students from Class 1-A.

Rikido Sato

Rikido Sato’s quirky sugar rush allows him to triple his overall strength when he consumes sugar temporarily. While that may sound like a lot, it isn’t, as his quirk still takes his base power into account when multiplying. Despite the boost, he isn’t regarded as a main fighter in the class or throughout the series. Despite not being the weakest student in class 1-A, he is not among the strongest.

Yuga Aoyama

Aoyama’s quirky naval laser allows him to fire a laser from his naval. While this is a relatively good quirk, it is a double-edged sword, as Aoyama constantly suffers from tummy aches after excessive use of the quirk. But despite the drawback, Aoyama has learned to use his quirk to full effect, supporting his comrades from behind with his laser.

Mashirao Ojiro

Despite being one of the best fighters in terms of hand-to-hand combat, his quirk is not that great. His quirk tail gives him a tail, allowing him to propel himself off the ground and smash objects.

Although it seems like a great quirk, it really isn’t, as his quirk is very obvious even during first encounters since it’s unretractable. However, Ojiro covers his weakness very well, combining his martial arts with the extra agility his tail provides.

Koji Koda

Koda is clearly one of the weakest students in the class; his quirk allows him to talk to animals. While that may seem underwhelming compared to the other quirks in the series, it does have room to shine, given the right circumstances.

However, due to Koji’s timid personality, those expectations may never really come true. During his battle with the present Mic, he used the quirk to blind the prohero using a flock of birds.

Toru’s quirk makes her completely invisible, perfecting her for espionage and stealth missions. She also possesses the ability to refract light that passes through her, allowing her to temporarily blind foes. After her training with Yoroi Musha, she redefined the light application of her quirk and gained the ability to redirect light-based attacks, like Aoyama’s naval laser.

Mezo Shoji

While Shoji’s quirk isn’t useless, it isn’t strong. His quirk, dupli-arms, allows him to release a tentacle beside his arms and replicate any body part. This makes him a viable option for reconnaissance and stealth missions, as an extra ear or two would go a long way. After the class training arc, Shoji could use his extra appendages to glide in the air for a few minutes.
