However, she landed up in trouble after being taken hostage triggering her comeback in the NCIS team. Knight managed to deal with the situation bravely and as a result, she was offered a promotion leading her to the Office of Strategic Support.
While fans were impressed by Jessica Knight’s bravery, they were worried about her future in the series. Knight’s new position in federal law enforcement suggested the end of her character, marking Katina Law’s exit after more than five seasons. However, the good news is Knight ended up rejecting the offer cementing her stay in the series.
In her latest interview with TV Insider, Katrina Law opened up the reason behind her character turning down the offer. She stated that at one point Knight would have sacrificed her happiness by taking up the new job. However, for the first time, she follows her instincts and chooses her happiness over everything.
Speaking further on her character’s decision, Katrina Law told The Wrap, ”Now she’s decided to step into the sunlight. I think there’s freedom and the strength that Knight finds from making her own career decisions and personal decisions that are 100% her own.”
While the rumors around Law’s exit are cleared, the upcoming track of NCIS Season 22 will witness new twists for her character. In the upcoming episodes, Jessica Knight will cross paths with her former love interest, Dr. Jimmy Palmer leading to new drama and entertainment.
