New Chinese Drama Episode Releases This Week (August 21-25, 2024)

This week, from Wednesday, August 21, to Sunday, August 25, 2024, will be interesting for Chinese drama fans as much anticipated shows like Burning Love and Dawn Is Breaking will premiere. Meanwhile, newly released shows, including Love and Bid Farewell and Bank on Me, will continue to release new episodes. With the airing of these series, viewers can enjoy various genres like costume, fantasy, romance, comedy, and more. 

Burning Love

The thriller Chinese drama Burning Love will premiere on Thursday, August 22, 2024. The series tells the story of Xie Lan Qin (Xu Jiaqi), who pushes away the love of her life, Feng Yan (Li Zhuoyang), after facing a family crisis. She turns vengeful and strives to seek justice. However, she eventually realizes that Feng Yan has always been protecting her from a distance, and he refuses to give up on her. Realizing her mistake, Xie Lan Qin vows to correct her mistakes and pursue her old love.

The 24 episodes of the drama will be available to stream throughout the week on Sohu TV.

Dawn is Breaking

This Chinese drama premiered on August 20, 2024. Dawn is Breaking sees a noblewoman named Xie Wan Yin (He Xuan Lin) accidentally witnessing a heinous murder on her wedding day. However, soon after, she becomes the target of Dongfang Zui (Richard Li), the murderer.

Sure enough, Dongfang Zui changes the trajectory of the wedding between Xie Wan Yin and the prince. He pressurizes her family to make her marry him. Although he appears to be kindhearted and bright, only Xie Wan Yin knows how cruel and vicious he is. Moreover, she is determined to kill him, but he seems to always be one step ahead of her.

Love and Bid Farewell (Ep 7 – 15)

This ongoing Chinese drama tells the story of a palace that holds many conspiracies. After Gu Jun Yao’s (He Xuanlin) entire family is executed, she spends years hiding in a secret organization, waiting for the perfect time to take revenge. However, the prince, whom she wanted to use as a tool for her vengeance, turns out to be a scheming villain. This complicates her situation as it poses obstructions in her Jun Yao’s mission.

Love and Bid Farewell can be streamed on Tencent Video.

Bank on Me (Ep 5-18)

Lin Qiang (Bai Yu), the deputy director of the audit department of the United Bank head office, was transferred after he refused to sign a problematic loan. Although the branch doesn’t perform well, Lin Qiang quickly figures out the root of the problem with his professional ability. He teams up with one of his old coworkers, who was also demoted. Thus, they help the staff fight for the benefits they deserve.

Bank on Me is available to stream on Youku.

Hard Noble Lady

This recently released Chinese drama sees Liu Xi, a hardworking CEO and a capitalist, enjoying his time as a playboy. One day, his soul is transported back in time to a strict household, where he is reborn as Liu Xi Zhao (Ke Ying), a young woman. On the other hand, Xi Zhao’s husband, Lu Shao Yang (Aaron Deng), is quite frivolous. As a result, Liu Xi constantly clashes with him, but he wishes to return to his old life. When he protests, he is put under house arrest. However, as he accommodates to his new life, Liu Xi understands the burden of patriarchy and the hardships of being a woman.

The drama can be streamed on iQIYI and Youku.

Other than these, The Whole Truth will release its final episode on August 24, 2024. Dr. Wu, Escape from the Trilateral Slopes, For the Young Ones, Strange Tales of Jiang Cheng, and Are You the One, among others, will continue their weekly run.
