The governor fielded questions from members of the community who voiced frustration over crime and drugs plaguing the state. Gov. Lujan Grisham said finding solutions is her top priority. She also said the problem has gotten so bad, it’s impacting efforts to clean up the community.

“Some of the community work we engage in, we can’t have because it is too dangerous for community members to be exposed to the risks for cleaning up. That’s a very harsh reality and I don’t recognize my state,” said Gov. Lujan Grisham.

This all comes after she convened a special legislative session last week where lawmakers failed to pass any of her legislation addressing crime, mostly due to members of her own party.
